This depends solely on convenience and your pet’s preference. Tinctures, when given directly, usually take effect in a shorter time frame, about 30 minutes and can last for up to seven hours.

Tinctures mixed with other substances can take one to two hours to take effect since they have to work their way through the digestive system.
